Your questions answered
Before booking
Pets are allowed only with the prior consent of the owner.
It is not possible to place a hold on a reservation. As soon as you express interest in making a reservation, you must check availability with Votre Château de Famille before the contract is drafted. While the contract is being drafted and signed, the château is reserved for you. If you need to visit the château before making a commitment, we may, with the owner’s consent and provided the visit takes place soon, exceptionally place a hold on the property for a few days.
For safety reasons, fireworks are strictly prohibited in most castles.
All the castles are smoke-free, but you may smoke outside; ashtrays are always available.
Of course, you can visit the castle before and/or after your reservation. To do so, please contact Votre Château de Famille, and we will put you in touch with the castle’s owner or manager to arrange an on-site tour.
Yes, for each castle we have a list of local vendors that we can recommend to you, but we never require you to use any particular vendor.
Babies under 2 years of age are not included in the accommodation’s capacity.
Yes, all of our castles have Wi-Fi. Please note, however, that due to the castles’ thick walls, Wi-Fi may not always reach every room.
We never charge a corkage fee.
No, but if you’d like, our team can provide breakfast or meals. We can also put you in touch with local staff who can prepare meals.
No. The “Votre Château de Famille” package involves renting the entire estate to a single family, who may invite their loved ones. Please note that in many castles, there isn’t a bathroom in every room, and the rooms do not have locks. We are not a hotel.

At a castle—”Your Family Castle”—you’ll have complete privacy, since the owner won’t be on site. The owner will give you the keys, and you’ll feel right at home. In the rare event that the owner is staying in an outbuilding, we’ll let you know.

You can plan your reception exactly as you wish, choosing your own vendors. We’re happy to offer advice, but the choice is entirely yours. You can also cook your own meals in the castle’s kitchen. We do not charge a corkage fee. In addition, you can accommodate some of your guests on-site in the castle’s guest rooms.
Yes. The castles in our group either have a dedicated reception hall for your events or a series of interconnected rooms where you can host receptions. Contact us for a selection of castles based on your criteria.
Yes, we offer weekend packages for 4 days/3 nights or 3 days/2 nights. The minimum stay is 3 days/2 nights.
There is no time limit. However, since some of our castles are located near residential areas, we ask that you be considerate of the neighbors. We therefore encourage you to confirm the rules in effect for the castle with us and the owner.
Tables and chairs are available for your use. The number depends on the castle’s reception capacity.
At all of the group’s castles, we always rent out the entire property to a single family: the castle, including the guest rooms and the grounds. You’ll feel right at home. The castle is reserved exclusively for you, and you can plan your stay—with or without a reception—exactly as you wish.

Health and safety protocols have been strengthened to comply with health authorities’ recommendations regarding COVID-19. The owners of Votre Château de Famille are committed to following the cleaning and disinfection procedures outlined in the health protocol developed by the UNPLV (Employers’ Union for the Promotion of Vacation Rentals) and approved by the Ministry of Health.
Your booking
All the castles are smoke-free, but you may smoke outside; ashtrays are always available.
We require proof of liability insurance for any stay at one of our castles. For certain castles designated as Historic Monuments, we require proof of insurance specifying that your vacation insurance covers you for a stay at a castle designated as a Historic Monument (MH).
We know, for example, that MAIF offers this; if your insurance company does not, we can recommend a specific insurance provider, such as SLA Verspieren, which you can contact on our behalf.
If you’re hosting a reception, some castles require specific “event organizer” insurance.
All reservations are subject to the signing of a rental agreement and payment of a deposit. Once availability has been confirmed and you express your desire to make a reservation, we will send you a seasonal rental agreement for you and the owner to sign. Once the contract is fully signed, we’ll ask for 50% of the rental amount as a deposit. The balance and the security deposit are due one month before your stay.
Yes, we offer weekend packages for 4 days/3 nights or 3 days/2 nights. The minimum stay is 3 days/2 nights.
If you decide to send us the contract and the check by mail, you can send them to our address: Votre Château de Famille, 20 Passage de la Bonne Graine, 75011 Paris.
Alternatively, you can scan the signed contract and make a bank transfer to the owner’s bank account, the details of which we will provide to you.
If you withdraw from the agreement, you will forfeit the deposit. If you withdraw less than three months before the lease takes effect, we will require you to pay the landlord the difference between the deposit and the total rent as a penalty clause.
That said, in the event of a major unforeseen circumstance—and because we are not an automated platform and handle bookings directly between renters and owners— please know that our property owners will do everything possible to reschedule your stay for a later date (subject to the château’s availability) so that you do not lose your reservation.
A 50% deposit is required upon signing the contract. Payments may be made by bank transfer or check.

In accordance with the law, the swimming pools at Votre Château de Famille properties are equipped with a safety device that complies with AFNOR standards for in-ground and outdoor swimming pools. Please note that these safety devices are in no way a substitute for supervising individuals who cannot swim; the property owner accepts no liability in this regard.
In addition, pets are strictly prohibited from swimming in the pools.

Certain areas of our castles’ grounds are not recommended for unsupervised children (woods, wells, treehouses, trampolines, sheds, swimming pools, etc.), even though the owners take special care to ensure their castles are safe.
It has been agreed that the premises will be used with “due care,” as the saying goes.
To prevent fire hazards and keep the grounds clean, please use the ashtrays provided outside the castle and avoid discarding cigarette butts in the park. The welcome booklet details all safety guidelines, and the person who greets you will explain them to you upon your arrival.
The use of fireplaces is often restricted, and you will be informed which fireplaces are available for use. Candles are permitted in the reception rooms and lounges, but are prohibited in the bedrooms.
At the “Votre Château de Famille” castles, sheets and towels are provided, and the beds are made upon your arrival. You can cook for yourself in all the castles, and we provide basic kitchen supplies (coffee, tea, sugar, etc.). You can also contact our team to arrange meals or breakfasts at most of the castles.
You will always find kitchen supplies in our castles. Tableware and utensils are provided by the owner, but tableware for a gathering with more guests than the number of people staying at the property is never provided: it is up to you to rent it from your caterer.
For shopping, a welcome guide will provide information on nearby stores and supermarkets. Some offer delivery for orders above a certain amount.
The owner or the castle manager will welcome you upon your arrival. You will be provided with the contact information for the person in charge of your arrival and check-in before you arrive. You will also find the owner’s phone number and email address on your rental agreement.
