La Bijoire is in the heart of a region rich in tourist and cultural attractions, such as the Puy du Fou. The swimming pool, as well as a reception area with of a converted barn, a bar and a covered terrace, are located in the beautiful set of outbuildings built before the château in 1855. An ideal setting for a birthday party or wedding. The chapel, dating from the same period as the château, completes this beautiful ensemble.

Chateau de la Bijoire has 12 rooms, 8 of which are available for rent to accommodate 15 people. Each room has a full private bathroom. A charming guest house can accommodate an additional 10 people in 5 double rooms. This means that 25 people can be accommodated comfortably on the property. Château de la Bijoire is of such a size, decoration and comfort that it feels like a “family home”, welcoming, warm and full of life.

The guest house has an area of 200m2. It has 5 bedrooms for 10 people. It is located in the park of the castle near the swimming pool and the reception area in the restored barn. Another annex house for 5 people can be made available at an additional cost.

Our Rates
You have two options:
– Option stay – weekend at the chateau: You rent the whole property, with the chateau and the guest house to accommodate 25 people, 15 in the chateau and 10 in the guest house. The whole property is privatized for you, including the park, with the swimming pool and the fitted out outbuildings surrounding the swimming pool, but you do not organize a big reception.
– Reception option: You rent the reception area around the pool, the converted and heated barn, the covered terrace and the bar. You also rent the guest house to accommodate 10 people, but you do not have access to the castle, which will be closed. You have access to the entire park around the castle and the swimming pool.
The rental price includes heating, water, electricity, garden maintenance and cleaning at the end of your stay. Cleaning during your stay is offered and carried out on request. Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made up on arrival. Only the tourist tax is payable on arrival. Deposit required: 2 500 euros.

History
In 1873, Charles de Bretagne, the great-grandfather of the current owner, marries Gabrielle de la Bajonnière whose father bought the estate of La Bijoire in 1843. Charles is the youngest of his family settled in the north of France in Douai. He leaves the family chateau to his elder brother and follows his wife in Vendée. He immediately asked a local architect, Mr. Guillerot, to do a project to expand the existing dwelling. The projects did not satisfy him so he decided to have the house destroyed and built a castle of Flemish style instead, that reminded him of his childhood. The work was completed in 1875.
In 2014 his great-grandson, Hugues, architect, helped by his wife Catherine, painter, and his children and stepchildren, decided to restore and modernize the castle.

This region of Vendée with a mild and sunny climate allows many cultural and sporting discoveries for all ages.
A few minutes from La Bijoire, you can go surfing, sailing, or any other nautical sport (paddle, fishing, canoe …). The nearest beach is Longeville at 19 km. There is also the Bud beach (23 km, surfing school), Bouil beach (22km, sailing school) and the Lake of Saint Vincent sur Graon (4km) .You can go horse riding at 1km from the castle, at the Stables of la Boissière or the Stables of la Jaulnière. Guests can play tennis at the indoor tennis courts of Saint-Vincent-sur-Graon, 4 km away, or go golfing at 12 km to the Golf de la Domangère or Port Bourgenay at 23 km.
An attraction not to miss : the Puy du Fou at 60 km. You will also appreciate the Indian Forest (15km), the Château des Aventuriers (10km), the Automobile Museum (20km), the Poterie de Nesmy (12km) and the Marais Poitevin (60km).
Lovers of cultural visits will be delighted at the Logis de la Chabotterie, the Haras de la Roche sur Yon (15km), the Floral Park of the Court of Aron, or Les Sables d’Olonne.

– 4h by car across Angers and Cholet. Follow direction “La Roche-sur-Yon sud”, take exit “Aubigny”, take south direction to La Tranche. drive 10km, cross the roundabout then continue for 3km. Turn left to Saint Vincent-sur-Graon. After 100m turn left. You have arrived.

Reception room:
The barn restored into a 90 m2 reception or meeting room. It can accommodate 80 people seated to listen to a conference or have a meal. This room is heated.
A room called “office” with sink, microwave oven and refrigerator serves the room.
The sanitary facilities consist of two toilets and two washbasins and are accessible from the room.
A car park for 8 cars is located at the back of the meeting room. On either side of the access aisle there is room for 40 cars.
Covered terrace:
A large open barn which in the temperate season can be used as a dining room or as an auditorium or dance hall.
Bar room :
An unheated bar room of 70 m2 which can hold 50 people standing and 20 seated. This room is not heated.
