Built between 1852 and 1870 at the request of Gaspard de Fornier de Clauselles, heir to a primogeniture during the Restoration, the château reflects the ambition and refinement of the Second Empire aristocracy. Designed from the outset as a vacation home, it continues to embody the art of hospitality for which it was originally built.

Nestled in the heart of a 3-hectare park, the château offers a panoramic view of the Pyrenees mountain range. It features 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, sleeping up to 15 people—enough to bring family and friends together under one roof. A private apartment on the estate also sleeps 6 people, with 2 double bedrooms and a sleeper sofa.

Its reception areas can accommodate up to 300 people.

For moments of relaxation, the resort features a swimming pool and a bocce court—everything you need to make the most of your stay, between games of bocce and afternoons in the sun.

The swimming pool
In the heart of the park, the 10 x 5 m swimming pool and its large terrace invite relaxation on sunny days, with sun loungers and garden furniture. Right next door, the pétanque court welcomes games with friends until sunset.

The forecourt
Facing the park and the Pyrenees, the approximately 200 m² courtyard offers exceptional panoramic views. Naturally cool, even on hot summer days, it is the ideal location for secular ceremonies, cocktail parties for up to 300 people, and dinners under the stars.

The Château de Bagens offers 7 rooms and suites, as well as a private apartment, with a total capacity of 21 guests. All accommodations feature private bathrooms with bathtubs or walk-in showers, and 160-cm double beds.

The Rose and Lys suites each accommodate 4 people in two connecting double rooms, making them ideal for families. The Magnolia and Jasmin rooms feature a small adjoining room with a single bed. Set slightly apart from the others, the Pivoine room is the one we recommend for newlyweds, so they can enjoy the peace and privacy of their wedding night.

With its separate entrance, this private apartment for 6 people features two double bedrooms, a living room with a sleeper sofa, and a kitchen—the ideal choice for those seeking more independence.
