In the peaceful surroundings of Seine-Maritime, near Gisors, Château du Landel has a rich and fascinating history. In the past, this estate was a stopover for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Imbued with an atmosphere of serenity, this place was conducive to meditation and rest, making the castle a sanctuary of peace. The castle subsequently became the property of master glassmakers until 1870. Over the centuries, the forest of Lyons, located in the south-east of the Seine-Maritime department, and its remarkable beech forest played a key role in the development of industrial activities using wood as a raw material. This flourishing period has left an indelible mark on the history of the château. Today, the refined décor of Château du Landel pays tribute to this rich past. Delicately crafted glass objects, period mirrors and portraits of the former owners adorn the walls, testifying to the prestigious heritage of Château du Landel. Over the years, your hosts have worked passionately to restore and refurbish the château and its 17 bedrooms, preserving this precious heritage for future generations.
