Rent a château near Bordeaux, among the vines

Bordeaux draws two kinds of traveller: the one who comes for the wine and the one who comes for a wedding or a big family weekend. Our four châteaux serve both. Château des Bloys is twenty minutes from the city, with 110 hectares and a reception capacity of 250 — the largest in our collection. Château de Pitray sits in the heart of the Saint-Émilion vineyards, fifty minutes away, a 15th-century estate of 130 hectares. To the east, Château de Garraube, fifteen minutes from Bergerac, opens onto the Dordogne and the Périgord Pourpre. To the south, Château de Briat, in the middle of Armagnac country, adds a tennis court, a pool and a reception hall for 150.

These are private estates, rented for your exclusive use. You have the whole château — bedrooms, drawing rooms, grounds, often the cellars to visit with the owner — and you are at home. No check-in, no breakfast hours, no strangers at the table. For a wedding it changes everything: guests sleep on site and Sunday brunch happens on the terrace.

All around, the places everyone asks about: the village of Saint-Émilion and its cellars, the château route of the Médoc, the Cité du Vin and the Bordeaux quays, Arcachon Bay, the Dune du Pilat and Cap Ferret, Bergerac and the Monbazillac vineyard, the bastide towns of the Périgord.
