Principal living and reception rooms

As the exclusive host during your stay, you are free to organize your days and celebrations exactly as you wish — plan your event surrounded by loved ones, and welcome your guests into the elegant ground-floor reception spaces.

The Grand Salon

The grand salon recalls the splendor of a bygone era, with its majestic carved stone fireplace and painted wall panels by Jules de Lahondès, who owned the château in 1850. Combined with the other rooms on the ground floor, this refined space can host up to 100 guests for a cocktail reception — ideal for an intimate winter wedding.

The Dining Room

Bright and inviting, the dining room stands out for the elegance of its wood paneling and coffered ceiling. It features a large table that can seat up to 24 guests for warm and convivial meals with family or friends.

The Great Reception Hall

For large celebrations, the reception hall with its beautiful exposed stone walls opens onto a graceful wrought iron pergola. It can accommodate up to 120 guests for a seated dinner, offering a festive and elegant setting.

The hall connects directly to the Emmanuelle lounge on one side and the red lounge in the Tour du Pastel on the other, creating a variety of atmospheres throughout your event.

Our bedrooms

The château’s bedrooms have retained the romantic charm of the grand family homes of the past, with antique furniture, silk curtains, and quilted bedspreads. Some rooms overlook the park, while others offer magnificent south-facing views of the Pyrenees mountain range.

In the West Wing, the bedrooms are decorated in a simpler, very cozy style, inspired by the soft blues of woad dye and Orientalist paintings.

History ofChateau de Riveneuve

A 17th-century manor, Château de Riveneuve once belonged to the Baron d’Ornolac. In 1850, it passed into the hands of Jules de Lahondès, a painter, student of the renowned historian and archaeologist Joseph Latour, and president of the Académie des Jeux Floraux in Toulouse.

Upon returning from a trip to Italy, Jules de Lahondès decorated the grand salon with mural paintings depicting Rome and Venice, including a scene of the famous gardens of the Villa Doria Pamphili in Rome. This artwork was later restored with the support of Vieilles Maisons Françaises (V.M.F.). For the wedding of his son Joseph to the daughter of the Marquise d’Exéa, he commissioned a fireplace adorned with their respective coats of arms.

In 2000, Catherine and Hervé Gasiglia purchased the estate and undertook its restoration with great passion, transforming Riveneuve into a warm and welcoming family home. They enjoy hosting their children and friends there, and when away, they are delighted to open the château to other families, so they too can experience the joy of shared moments in this exceptional setting.
