The Château de Rubelles is located in the heart of nature, just outside Paris. Renting the château for a weekend or a week is like stepping into a timeless world deep in the forest. The 38-hectare estate is home to families of fallow deer, does, and wild rabbits.
Built in the 17th century and expanded in the 19th, Rubelles has recently been completely renovated. It is available for rent year-round for a weekend getaway with friends, a family gathering, a birthday party, a wedding, or a family vacation.
The Rubelles estate can accommodate 24 people and host 50 people for an event. Quiet, luxurious, and welcoming, it’s a large family home ideal for gatherings with a large group, visiting Paris or the Île-de-France region—particularly the châteaux of Vaux-le-Vicomte, of which Rubelles is the closest neighbor, and the Château de Fontainebleau. Very easy to reach, 35 minutes from Orly and 45 minutes from Roissy.
Explore the estate
Closed since the 17th century Dating back to the 18th century, the Rubelles estate covers 38 hectares. The forest, composed mainly of hornbeams and oaks, is home to a herd of wild fallow deer, wild rabbits, squirrels, and numerous birds. In the spring, Canada geese and mallards find refuge there. Two ponds, a lake, and numerous streams enhance walks through the forest. Free-range chickens provide guests with fresh eggs every day and will live out their lives peacefully on the estate. A playground with a swing, a slide, and a small playhouse will delight children and bring joy to parents alike.

The History of the Castle
17th centuryRubelles Castle, located in the town of Rubelles near Melun, was built in the 17th century and renovated and expanded in the 19th century. A building known as the “Hostellerie” already stood on this site in the 13th century. The bulk of the estate covers 38 hectares in a single block, and the grounds contain various structures designated as Historic Monuments for their architectural significance: the courtyard pavilion, the machine pavilion, and the rest pavilion located at the southern end of the pond. The château also houses a unique collection of earthenware, an art form that has its roots in Rubelles dating back to 1838, and whose pieces are highly sought after by collectors. The château has belonged to the same family since its construction—the du Tremblay family—until 2000, when it was purchased by the current owners.
Things to Do in the Area
