Region
Fifteen inhabited houses, from the Fontainebleau forest to the banks of the Loire. The entire castle, just for you, for a weekend that starts on Friday evening or for a weekday seminar.
The region
Most of our enquiries come from Paris, and the question is always the same: where can fifteen, twenty-five or forty people get together without spending half the weekend on the road? The answer lies within a two-hour radius. To the south, Château de Rubelles is forty minutes away, deep in the forest between Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte. To the west, the Eure valley and the Pays d’Ouche: Château de Feuguerolles de Hellenvilliers at 1 h 20, Villers-en-Ouche at 1 h 45, with Giverny and Monet’s gardens on the way. Towards Rouen, the Manoir des Zoaques, once Sacha Guitry’s summer house, and Château du Landel. To the south-west, Sancerre and Château de l’Écluse; further on, Amboise, Saumur and the Touraine, 1 h 30 by TGV, with Château Amore, La Villaine, Montgoger and Château du Bellay.
These châteaux, estates and manor houses are rented whole, for your exclusive use. The owners welcome you on Friday, hand over the keys and the entire place — drawing rooms, kitchen, grounds — and come back on Sunday. No receptionist, no other guests: that is the difference from a boutique hotel or a large holiday rental, and it is why families come back every year for the cousins’ reunion, the 60th birthday or the wedding.
All around, everything travellers look for an hour from Paris: the châteaux of Fontainebleau, Vaux-le-Vicomte and Chantilly, Barbizon and its forest, Chartres cathedral, medieval Provins, the loops of the Seine and Giverny, then the first Loire châteaux and the vineyards of Vouvray and Sancerre. From 11 to 47 beds, up to 150 guests for a reception.
