A château wedding venue with accommodation answers a question most reception halls cannot: where does everyone sleep once the band stops? Votre Château de Famille only offers estates that are rented whole — the drawing rooms for dinner, the grounds for the ceremony, and above all the bedrooms for your closest family and friends. Our twenty-eight châteaux, estates and family-run manors are hired exclusively, from Friday to Sunday or Monday, with no other event on the same day. From 12 to 50 beds on site, from 30 to 250 guests for the reception, in ten regions of France.

A wedding estate with rooms, not a hall

The difference fits in one sentence: with us, your guests sleep where they danced. A wedding estate with accommodation gathers the reception room, the bedrooms and the next morning’s breakfast under one roof — close family in the château, friends in the guest houses in the grounds or in the guesthouses ten minutes away that the owners can list for you. Château de Carqueiranne sleeps 50, Collias 28 in 14 bedrooms, Longpré 20, Amore 21 in ten renovated rooms. These are homes, not halls rented by the hour: you arrive on Friday to set up, dine with the family the night before, and have brunch on Sunday.

A château hired exclusively, with no sharing on the day

Each château is hired in its entirety: the bedrooms, the drawing rooms, the caterer’s kitchen, the grounds, the pool where there is one. One family, one wedding. That exclusivity changes the shape of the day: the ceremony under the trees, drinks on the terrace, dinner in the orangery or the great hall, and music until the hour the house allows, with no neighbouring party and no next event waiting. Capacities vary from one estate to the next — 80 at the Ferme de Mahomet, 120 at Riveneuve and La Douve d’Armaillé, 150 at Longpré, Amore, Briat and Pitray, 180 at Carqueiranne, 200 at Collias, 250 at Les Bloys — and each listing states its own, seated and standing.

What the hire includes, and what it costs

The hire covers the whole estate for two or three nights: beds made on arrival, linen provided, water, electricity, heating, grounds upkeep, end-of-stay cleaning, and use of the caterer’s kitchen. You pay for the caterer, whom you choose freely, for reception furniture where it is not provided, and a deposit of €3,000 to €5,000. For a wedding, count on €4,000 to €13,500 for two to three nights with a reception, depending on the château, the season and the capacity — for 120 guests, roughly the price of a reception hall alone, with the accommodation included. Prices are published on every listing, with no commission added.

The South-West is our best-stocked region, with eleven estates between Toulouse, Carcassonne and the Périgord; then the châteaux less than two hours from Paris, the Auvergne and the Allier, the West between Angers and the Vendée, the Gard and the Var coast, the vineyards of Saint-Émilion and Armagnac, Normandy, Burgundy and the Loire Valley. For an unusual château wedding, think of a Cathar fortress, a wine estate or a house facing the sea; for an all-inclusive wedding, look for the listings that offer a butler, breakfast and shuttles as options.
