With its many rooms, most of which have private bathrooms, the castle can comfortably accommodate up to 20 people. At the heart of the Château des Artistes lies the Royal Room, an elegant room with a double bed, offering a night of pure comfort. The private bathroom features a refreshing shower and a toilet. For families looking for more space, our Family Suite offers two additional bedrooms (one double bed and two twin beds) and a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. The château’s terrace offers a picturesque view of the château’s courtyard. Two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two twin beds) share a common family bathroom, providing a comfortable space for the whole family.

In the garden, a separate retreat featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Enjoy the spacious living room and kitchen, which create the perfect setting for a private getaway surrounded by nature.

Finally, in four other separate dwellings adjoining the castle, you’ll find four suites with private bathrooms and toilets, offering breathtaking views of the valley.

Our Rates

The property is always rented out in its entirety to a single family. You’ll have the castle and its garden—including the pool—all to yourselves.

The rental price includes heating, water, electricity, yard maintenance, and cleaning at the end of your stay. Bed linens and towels are provided. The beds will be made upon your arrival.

Home cooking service and daily housekeeping available if needed (optional)

Rates for long weekends (3 days minimum) and vacation stays available upon request (minimum 7 nights during peak season).

Security deposit required: 2,000 euros.

A 12th-century castle whose last beloved aristocratic owner, the Count of Rochessauve, is said to have committed suicide due to the ravages of the French Revolution. This property is situated in an ancient volcanic crater, and vast cliffs shield the castle to the north. The Château des Artistes is located in the town of Rochessauve.

The chef’s large kitchen features two ovens, an eight-burner stovetop, two dishwashers, a pantry equipped with a coffee station, and a large marble dining table with chairs, which can also serve as a work surface for meal preparation.
