Enjoy a beautiful, welcoming and cosy family residence to celebrate a wedding or a birthday, or organise a weekend with friends. You will have the estate to yourself, including the chateau, the park and the swimming pool. The terrace opens onto a vast park, a nice octagonal basin and the pool. You can also enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills.

You can entertain in the salons of the ground floor or in the Glycines and Citronniers reception rooms.

Principal living and reception rooms

In addition to the salons inside the castle, two reception rooms have been created across the courtyard. You will find the Glycines room to welcome 140 persons and the Citronniers room for a 220-person reception. You can also have the reception and / or ceremony outside in the courtyard or the park.

Our bedrooms

Although they are situated in the same house, the 19 bedrooms are distributed between two wings and 2 blocks each. The wing of the “Grande Maison” gives access to nine bedrooms named after flowers or colors. The “Jardin d’Hiver” wing houses six other bedrooms named after the family members of the owner. You will immediately feel at home in this vast family house ! You have also four other bedrooms in the outbuildings of the castle.

Our Rates

The property is always rented in its entirety to a single group. You have the park (5 acres) with its heated pool, and the house (600 m2) with its reception rooms (380 m2) and 19 rooms in 4 blocks for 42 people. We can, if desired, close the large reception room at the entrance of the court.
The rental price includes 19 rooms to accommodate 42 people, and the charges for heating, water, electricity, garden maintenance, pool, cleaning the chateau, and linen. Bed linen and towels are provided. Beds made on arrival.
Damage deposit: 2000 euros.

History ofChâteau de Pralong

Pralong castle was a stronghold in the fifteenth century, which belonged to the family of the Counts of Satillieu. In 1800 it was acquired by the family Bel, farmer neighbours, who made renovations. Miss. Bel married Mr. Bayzelon, wealthy industrialist of Lyon, and ancestor of the current owner. He has continued the work of his ancestors by completely renovating Pralong into a friendly and comfortable home. To accommodate weddings and celebrations he converted two of the outbuildings to create two large reception rooms.

Chateau Pralong is at the heart of the green Ardèche, just over an hour south of Lyon. It is located close to Annonay, the city where the brothers Montgolfier brothers invented the Hot Air Balloon, more than two centuries ago.
The famous natural arch of the Pont d’Arc is the triumphal point of entry to the nature reserve. For lovers of nature and the outdoors, activities and tourist destinations abound around Annonay in this beautiful region of Haut Vivarai and beyond to the Ardèche mountains and Meyzenc volcanic massifs. Whether hiking (6000 km of trails open to you), mountain biking, horseback riding the landscapes impress with their wild and unspoilt beauty. Many marked trails allow you to discover the natural park of Pilat, the Vocance and further south in Ardèche other landscapes include:  the Meyzenc,  the Tanargue or the Gerbier de Jonch … not forgetting of course the southern Ardèche and Ardèche Gorges for kayaking or canyoning lovers.
With its green network of small roads, it’s secure soft paths, its mountainous terrain and its famous cycling event “L’ardéchoise ” everyone can, for a week-end or a day, enjoy  the pleasures of cycling.
When the snow comes, the Ardèche plateau takes on another face: like the moon, almost unreal! In this pristine landscape, you will follow the footprints of a fox or a weasel, you can take a ride on a dog sleigh or go cross-country snow skiing.
Discover the villages of Saint Symphorien, Louvesc, or the wonder of the Cheval Postman Ideal Palace, built by one man (Ferdinand Cheval, rural factor between 1879 and 1912) where all styles of all countries and of all times are mixed.

  • Take the A7 highway, exit n°12 Chanas (Southsud Lyon)
  • At the roundabout, take direction Serrières / Annonay (N82)
  • At Annonay,  take direction Satillieu.
  • In Satilleu village, turn left near Crédit Agricole, then right.
  • Drive up 900 m to the white fence and a stone house. You have arrived !
