Visiting a castle, royal or not, is most often a deceptive experience, nothing has been set to put the visitor in the position of appropriating the site. Renaissance and humanism<\/h2>\n

The more a royal site has been home to a long dynasty of queens and kings, the more any of us will feel the distance that has been put between the holders of the royal power and those they were in charge to command.<\/p>\n
